Silent Hill: Homecoming is a single-player survival horror video game, released on November 6, 2008 for Microsoft Windows in North America, on February 27, 2009 in Europe, and on March 26, 2009 in Australia. The game requires 3D Engine: Slayer to play. The game was developed by Double Helix Games and published by Konami Digital Entertainment. It is the sixth major installment in the Silent Hill series.
Gameplay / Walkthrough:
What will you feel if you return one day and come to know this disarray that one of your households is missing? Assume that you’re the protagonist, Alex Shepherd, a Special Forces soldier who has lost his father and brother and whose mother has fallen into catatonia. Alex Shepherd starts his hunt from his hometown, Glen leading him to Silent Hill ultimately. Silent Hill: Homecoming free game is played like its previous versions. Its gameplay contains combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. Basically, the game has third-person view which sometimes switches to other angels, in pre-scripted areas. Since the game does not feature heads-up display, the player has to read a separate to check Alex’s ‘health’. Alex faces many monsters everywhere with both melee weapons and firearms. As Alex has no much experience in using firearms, he cannot bear many blows from enemies, and put himself to death after sprinting. He has portable radio informing him of the presence of nearby creatures with bursts of static. The player can find and collect maps of each area, similar to tourist maps. In order to advance through Silent Hill, the player is to find the keys and solve puzzles.
In Silent Hill: Homecoming full game, the player advances through the game by searching clues such as photographs, drawings and other related items, kept inside Alex’s journal that may be read at any time. To assist the player, Alex will turn his head towards items and clues to inform the player that the object may be picked up; other recurring items include weapons and ammunition, which give off a glow as a visual cue to the player and health drinks. This is for the first in the series that the player is at liberty to choose responses at the time of involving in a conversation with other characters in the game, enabling the player to deduce the plot.
